No single entity can bring together sufficient resources to comprehensively change the Endangered Species Act. NESARC provides the means of sharing the cost of a national effort among a sufficiently large group to ensure that the cost for each member is relatively modest. All of the Coalition’s members contribute annually to fund NESARC’s ambitious agenda. Dues levels vary according to size and scope of the organization. Contact the Coalition to discuss the appropriate dues payment for your organization. By joining the Coalition, you receive the following benefits: A Strong Voice on Capitol Hill -- NESARC believes that a diverse group of interests speaking with a unified voice can more effectively influence Washington, DC decision-making than can any single entity working alone. Together with our membership, NESARC has used this concept to develop a reputation for being the vital player in congressional efforts to improve the ESA. Utilizing our strong bipartisan relationships with offices all over Capitol Hill and in the Administration, we provide our members with a means of interacting with Congress in a focused way. This increases the chances that the specific issues of interest to our members will be addressed during the ESA debate. Bi-Weekly Legislative Strategy Sessions -- When Congress is in session, NESARC hosts bi-weekly legislative strategy sessions on Capitol Hill that are open to NESARC members only. At these meetings, information is provided and legislative activity is coordinated so that NESARC and all of its member groups can engage in the most effective lobbying possible. Key congressional staff is often in attendance. Written summaries of the meetings are circulated via e-mail to all members of NESARC’s Legislative Committee and Board of Directors. All NESARC members are eligible for membership on the Legislative Committee whether or not they are based in Washington, DC. Timely Analyses of Important ESA Events -- When major events occur, it is critical to have the most accurate and timely information at your fingertips. When important ESA-related news breaks, NESARC members normally have detailed analyses of these events sent to them via e-mail or fax the same business day. Unlimited Access to Coalition Analysis & Documents -- NESARC has long been praised for producing the most insightful, timely, and accurate information available regarding legislative and administrative efforts to reform the ESA. As a NESARC member, you will have unrestricted access to all of these documents. These include analyses and summaries of current legislation, political strategy, and administration initiatives. Bi-Weekly Updates -- NESARC has long believed that the only way to successfully reform the ESA is to have a broadly based and knowledgeable member constituency which can articulate their positions to officials across the country. One of the many ways NESARC keeps its members informed is through bi-weekly fax updates that report on the important ESA-related activities occurring around the nation. Constant Monitoring of New Regulations -- On a daily basis, the federal government publishes hundreds of pages of new rules and regulations in the Federal Register. NESARC combs through these new regulations and produces for its members bi-weekly alerts outlining all of the ESA-related notices produced by the federal government. Access to ESA Experts -- In addition to the legislative and communications staff employed by the Coalition, NESARC also has experienced legal counsel on staff as well. All of NESARC’s professionals are available to answer the questions of Coalition members regarding legislative proposals, administrative actions, and court proceedings that impact how the ESA is implemented.
